Hatboro Federal Savings, one of Bucks and Eastern Montgomery Counties’ leading community banks, is donating $222,222 to seven area groups that meet the criteria for Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC). The EITC allows tax credits for eligible businesses contributing to a scholarship, educational improvement or pre-kindergarten scholarship organization.

The 2014 recipients of Hatboro Federal’s EITC contributions are CB Cares, The Cradle of Liberty Council Boy Scouts of America, The Union Library of Hatboro, The Outdoor School, and the Hatboro Horsham, Upper Moreland and Centennial Educational Foundations.

Linda Roehner, CEO of Hatboro Federal Savings notes that the bank has a long and proud history of community support. “Since we opened our doors more than 73 years ago, we’ve been helping the communities in which we serve stay strong and vital. This year’s contribution will provide funding for groups that provide much-needed services for Bucks and Montgomery County residents of all ages.”

Hatboro Federal has been a major supporter of area educational foundations for several years. “The Hatboro Horsham, Upper Moreland and Centennial Educational Foundations are non-profit groups that enrich and enhance educational opportunities for students through special classroom programs, creative outreach programs, state-of-the-art instructional techniques and materials and more. We consider the education of our children to be a top priority. The more we can motivate and excite them about learning, the better”, adds Roehner.

CB Cares, The Cradle of Liberty Council Boy Scouts and the Outdoor School are local organizations, which provide programs that help area youth learn, grow and prepare for their future in a positive manner. The Union Library of Hatboro is the second oldest library in Pennsylvania, serving the community since 1755.

Hatboro Federal Savings was chartered by the Federal Home Loan Bank Board in February 1941, and has current assets of more than $492 million.
Headquartered at 221 S. York Road, in Hatboro, PA, Hatboro Federal also has branch offices in Warminster, Warrington and Jamison, offering financial products and services to individuals and families.
