Animal Lifeline Wins Donation
Hatboro Federal Savings is giving away $500 each month to a nonprofit.
May 23, 2011
Hatboro Federal Savings President and CEO Joseph J. Tryon, Jr., is pleased to announce that Animal Lifeline Rescue and Thrift Shop of Warrington, PA, has been awarded the bank's $500 Operation Helping Hands donation for the month of March.
Hatboro Federal has pledged to make a $500 donation to a different nonprofit each month through its Operating Helping Hands program.
"Thank you to our customers and friends who voted for Animal Lifeline," says Joe Tryon. "The wonderful work they do for abused, injured and homeless animals is vital, especially now in this challenging economy. This grassroots group of dedicated volunteers provides necessary resources to shelters and rescue organizations and saving the lives of thousands of homeless animals."
Founded by Denise Bash in March 2009, Animal Lifeline is a support organization working with rescue, shelter and municipal groups who advocate for animals everyday through innovative fundraising and "evolved rescue," a term used to describe their joint efforts. The organization coordinates food donations, medical and shelter supplies, animal transport, spay and neuter assistance and shelter rehabilitation. Animal Lifeline also provides educational programs for shelters, rescue groups, veterinarians, pet adopters, caregivers, and animal advocacy groups, as well as grant procurement and mediation consultation for municipal rescue and shelter organizations.
In July 2011, the Petfinder.com Foundation partnered with Animal Lifeline's Rescue University, taking a group of college students and shelter staff to South Carolina to rehabilitate local animal facilities.
"We are so grateful to Hatboro Federal Savings for supporting Animal Lifeline's local animal rescue initiatives," says Executive Director Laurie Frederick. "It is a great honor to be selected by our fellow community members for this Operation Helping Hands donation. This is an overwhelming time for animal rescue, especially for cats, and this support will enable us to continue to push on with our programs targeting adoption, spay and neuter, as well as our rescue food bank. The income that is generated at our all-volunteer thrift shop not only provides much-needed funds for our work, but is also a place for the public to visit and learn about Animal Lifeline's efforts to help animals in need."
You don't need to be a customer of Hatboro Federal Savings to participate in Operation Helping Hands. Just visit any branch office and fill out the form to vote for your favorite nonprofit organization.
